Numerous Tmall merchants have recently received backend invitations, indicating they can expand to the Southeast Asian market with one easy click, Chinese media reported. This marks the first time BABA-W (09988.HK)'s Southeast Asian e-commerce platform Lazada has fully opened its localized operational capabilities to Tmall merchants.

This is the first system-level integration between Tmall and Lazada, the report cited insiders from the project, as saying. Merchants joining the project agreement can immediately have a LazMall store similar to Tmall to welcome Southeast Asian consumers, with product information synchronized and listed through AI translation.

Throughout this process, merchants do not need to re-register, form local teams, or engage in complex operations. They only need to supply goods to domestic transit warehouses, while Lazada handles multilingual customer service, advertising investment, international shipping costs.
